Summer 2007 at LSNA

LSNA joined Mayor Daley August 4 to welcome, finally, the new police camera installed at the corner of Central Park and McLean.  Funston parents and LSNA asked for the camera three years ago, even meeting with Mayor Daley to win his commitment.  It took the shooting death in June of 13-year-old Ames student Schanna Gayden to deliver the camera. Pictured are Funston students and Ada Ayala, Funston Community Learning Center Coordinator.

In June, parents, families and teachers in the Literacy Ambassador program celebrated the end of the school year with a reading picnic at Kosciuszko Park.
