Student Fun at LSNA Summer Camps

Summer 2010

Logan Square students learned, played and in some cases experienced things for the first time in their lives through the summer camps provided by LSNA in partnership with Mozart, Monroe, and McAuliffe Elementary Schools.

McAuliffe School camp included field trips to the Adler Planetarium,

the Museum of Science of Industry, Brookfield Zoo, and Garfield Conservatory.  Children also visited China Town, Little Italy, Greek Town, and Millennium Park on trolleys.  Happy faces and fascinated looks were often seen as many of them rode trolleys for their first time.

The first two weeks of August brought the “Summer Blast” at Mozart Park, where students played basketball and other sports, had access to the gym, enjoyed board games and went outside to play baseball and have summer fun with water balloons.

At Monroe students mixed academics with recreational activities during the month of July. At the end of the camp they had competitions and received a certificate for their participation and school supplies.
