Ames 7th Grader Contributes to Black History Month

Throughout the month of January, the Ames Community Learning Center students have been researching the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Through this research the students were able to learn about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., his accomplishments, and the struggles he endured throughout the movement for Civil Rights.  The participants used their creativity to create a bulletin board full of poems, drawings, essays, and collages in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Many students have shown their artistic talents through this project.  Julio Peralta, a seventh grader at Ames has enjoyed drawing since he was a little boy.  " I love to draw.  I love to draw pictures of people and especially cartoons!"  The Martin Luther King Jr. bulletin board will be on display throughout the month of February at Ames Middle School!
