Ames Bicycle Program

Strategies 6.4 & 6.7:

Ames

Middle School

received funding to install gates across one hallway of the 3rd floor. This allows a dedicated space to undertake a program in partnership with the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation and After School Matters, in which students learn how to build and repair bikes and promote bicycling as part of a healthy and active lifestyle.

Status:

50 community youth have successfully completed the 16-week job training program.

In 2007 the program is being housed at Kelvyn Park High School.
