Food Stamps for All Kids

Mayra Rodriguez found solutions for her situation through government subsidized programs she learned about from LSNA. “My 2-year old son is enrolled in the All Kids program,” she says. “He means the world to me.”

Her son Daniel was diagnosed with bronchitis and asthma and the program has been instrumental in caring for his health. In the state of Illinois there are two million children that are members of All Kids.

Mayra, who worked at LSNA last summer through the Put Illinois to Work program, says that she heard hundreds of heartbreaking stories about “people who try to stay healthy but get sick a lot in this climate.” LSNA, which also helps families apply for food stamps and other government programs, has registered 719 families in the All Kids program through its Health Team. Mayra is one the beneficiaries. “Without All Kids I don’t know what I would do,” she says.
